Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we will serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units when we open in Spring of 2025.

Position Description:

The Court Liaison and Patient Advocate/Recipient Rights oversees all court related issues and the hospital grievance process.  In the court liaison role, they coordinate with each involuntary patient interacting with the Probate court. As the Recipient Rights Advisor/Patient Advocate this role investigates, resolves, documents and reports complaints and concerns following the process outlined by the State of Michigan, Office of Recipient Rights.  The Patient Advocate collaborates with departmental leaders to ensure resolution of concerns presented by patients, families, visitors or other representatives of the patient.  The Patient Advocate actively participates in the development and implementation of customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility’s mission and goals.

Hours and Location:

Full-Time. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

Job Requirements:

High School or Equivalent Requires, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

A minimum of three years’ experience as a recipient rights adviser, patient advocate or court liaison preferred.  

Previous Attendance at MDCH Training Conference preferred or can obtain once hired.
