The Part-Time Police Dispatcher will assist in communication and follow-up tasks to support security and law enforcement personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Public Safety Monitoring

  • Monitor public safety communications of public safety and security personnel for traffic coordination and venue security assistance.

Event Impact Assessment

  • Obtain and share public safety information in downtown Atlanta that may affect event operations and public safety for State Farm Arena

Incident Command

  • Represent State Farm Arena as needed in satellite communication centers to maintain Incident Command and share information during simultaneous events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2–4 year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a professional environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant backgrounds may include security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reflective listening.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to resolve challenging situations involving customers or staff.
  • Working knowledge of emergency communication protocols for public safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and professional correspondence.
  • Comfortable speaking effectively in front of groups, including customers and employees.
  • Ability to interpret and convey instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and related systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Work in a fast-paced security environment requiring advanced multitasking skills, including communication with law enforcement and 9-1-1 operations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GA Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) Dispatcher Certification
  • Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) experience and/or familiarization
  • Civilian law enforcement field experience
  • Emergency Management Certification(s)
