Job Summary

The Service Department Team Leader is entrusted with coordinating and organizing service technicians to provide maintenance, service, repair, and additions of residential irrigation systems. This position requires substantial knowledge and understanding of residential and commercial irrigation systems including, but not limited to: diagnosis, trouble shooting, reading of plans, irrigation layout, and installation of irrigation components. This position also incorporates the ability to manage, organize and possess the communication skills needed to direct service technicians towards the completion of specific residential irrigation projects to the quality and efficiency standards set at Millard Sprinkler.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Local travel to customer sites daily
  • Assess skill requirements for technical personnel and assist them with skill development and support. Make coaching and career development a priority.
  • Participate in succession planning process for all service technicians. Identify potential candidates both within and outside the company. Ensure any and all transition processes are managed effectively.
  • Must be well organized, and an excellent communicator. Should have strong interpersonal, presentation, and planning skills.
  • Be creative and focused with strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Must be able to connect with customers and technicians and give direction on technical projects and service needs.
  • Provide Training for best practices, Safety, etc.
  • Work directly with office Dispatcher for efficiencies and communication skills.
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs by technicians and maximum efficiency in scheduling work
  • Manages safety policies in the workplace including PPE equipment
  • Work with the lead service coordinator on daily activities for all techs including but not limited to: last minute route changes, warranty calls, etc.
  • Responsible for leading daily morning meetings with the service tech team, coordinating guest speakers and training as needed

· Hold techs accountable for vehicle maintenance, cleanliness and inventory

Qualifications: Requires 2+ years Sprinkler industry experience. Previous experience operating a trencher, pipe puller, and wire locator required. Knowledgeable in all areas of customer service, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pumps, motors, and Hunter Industry products. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record required. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service, possess strong organizational skills, and thrive in a leadership role within a service industry setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
