Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners, integrate faith into daily instruction, and create a nurturing classroom that supports the development of the whole child.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with diocesan standards
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and joy in learning
• Integrate Catholic teachings and values into curriculum and daily routines
• Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide activities and liturgical events
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
• Incorporate technology to enhance instruction and student engagement
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance
• Support students’ social-emotional development through positive behavior strategies
• Participate in professional development and faith formation opportunities
• Prepare students for sacramental milestones in partnership with families and parish staff
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, conferences, and digital platforms
• Uphold school policies and model Christian values in all interactions
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Valid teaching certification in Maine (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
