Summary

 

This is a senior supervisory technology position that reports to the Court Chief Information Officer (“CCIO”). This position will contribute to managing the day to day operations of nearly 20 court technology staff, as well as working with County departments on collaborative projects. Additionally, this position will serve as project lead/project manager for major initiatives. Assisting the CCIO with strategic planning, budgeting and personnel development are also key responsibilities. The Deputy Chief Information Officer work is evaluated based on quality of results obtained, conferences, customer feedback and reports.

  • Project management 
  • Coordination of the development and maintenance of project/service documentation
  • Staff supervision
  • Participate in research, development and implementation of enterprise IT projects
  • Participate in budget planning
  • Participate in strategic planning
  • Meet with vendors, research (and direct research) of new technologies and business solutions
  • Develops project scope, cost estimates, human resource requirements, work plans, time schedules, communication plans, and makes work assignments to meet project or program objectives
  • Coordinates work activities by scheduling staff assignments, setting work priorities, and directing the work of assigned employees, (including contractual) in the development of new information technology systems and enhancements to existing systems
  • Maintaining an awareness of emerging technologies and project management techniques

MINIMUM Education and Experience Guidelines

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, business management or administration or closely related filed. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience and 5 years project management experience.

 

Preferred:

 

PMP and/or ITIL certifications.


Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the recommended minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.   

 

  KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Thorough knowledge of:
    • System development lifecycle used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.
    • Project management principles, concepts and practices.
    • Advanced principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.

       
  • The ability to:
    • Resolve conflicting high-priority requirements.
    • Lead/work in a team environment involving matrix organizations.
    • Communicate both verbal and written effectively and effectively, build consensus, facilitate working sessions, and negotiate solutions and alternatives.
    • Gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions
    • Conduct training and informational sessions to judicial staff and partners.
    • Maintain favorable public relations and perform problem/issue resolution
