The mission of the Program in English as a Second Language in the English Department is to support the University's multilingual students by providing academic English language instruction, to enhance undergraduate education through work with international teaching assistants, to train prospective English language teachers, and to support the University's community and international outreach goals. Additional duties include overseeing the administration of the SPEAK Test and the English as a Second Language Assessment Test (ESLAT).

Master's Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or related field with a specialization in ESL
Required Qualifications
--Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in ESL Programs at the post-secondary level, including English for academic purposes and professional purposes.
--Ability to teach all skill areas including academic writing, reading, and vocabulary skills, oral communication, pronunciation, and grammar.
--Excellent command of spoken and written English, aligned with the demands and expectations of an English language educator
--Course coordination and/or program administration experience
--Experience and interest in curriculum development
--Ability to lead and supervise others
--Teacher training experience
--Strong interpersonal skills
--The ability to work well on a team
--Familiarity with instructional technologies
--Evidence of continuing professional activity

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.Ongoing/Renewable
Minimum $65,000 ACADEMIC (9 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The minimum starting salary for this position is $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary will be paid out over 9 months. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as sick leave; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits. Employees have the option to continue benefits for the full calendar year.
