• Responsible for collecting, ingesting, and processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources such as APIs, web logs, IoT devices, and databases. They clean, normalize, and transform raw data using tools like Apache Spark, Hive, or Python to prepare it for analysis.
• By applying statistical and machine learning techniques, they analyze massive datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
• Big Data Analysts also build and maintain scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Kafka, NiFi, or Airflow for real-time or batch processing.
• They create interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Apache Superset to support business decision-making.
• Additionally, they manage distributed databases like Hadoop HDFS, Amazon Redshift, or Snowflake, and collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA is also a key responsibility.
• Finally, they document data flows, analytical methodologies, and metadata to maintain transparency and support future use.
