Job Description



AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Structural Engineer III/Project Manager in Boston, MA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs structural design for building and transportation structures.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications



Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Structural Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires:

  1. Structural Analysis and modeling software including ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD and RAM Structural.
  2. Structural design tools including spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Woodworks, Mass, and Soda Graphix.
  3. Preparation of technical specifications.
  4. Design and analysis of buildings and structural elements framed with concrete, structural steel, aluminum and cold-formed steel, masonry, and wood.
  5. Completion of structural assessments.
  6. Federal, commercial, and industrial projects.
