Social Media Content Manager, CEO Office
Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a creative and results-oriented Social Media Content Manager, CEO Office to join our team in Lansdowne, VA. As the Social Media Content Manager, you are a vital part of the Executive Office. In this role, you will report to the CEO Communications Director and will manage the social media accounts for ADF’s CEO, President, & General Counsel, to include X, Instagram, and Facebook. You will create and distribute written and multi-media content, including visual graphics and video content. You will identify strategic opportunities for the CEO to drive the public conversation with targeted audiences on priority topics. You will provide regular analysis and reporting and deploy strategies to grow each channel.
Your Essential Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Manage the daily tasks and publishing schedule for the CEO’s social media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook), using both native platforms and task management tools.
- Monitor news and media trends to identify rapid-response opportunities for engagement. Track ADF work and team efforts to regularly communicate on ADF’s issue areas publicly.
- Draft high-level social media content, including ministry statements and scripts, that aligns with the CEO’s voice and position on key issues related to ADF.
- Manage the production of all visual content (videos, graphics) for the CEO’s channels.
- Coordinate with the CEO team and Communications to repurpose content, such as op-eds, media appearances, and photography, for CEO social media.
- Collaborate regularly with ministry social media channels (ADF Action, ADF, ADFI, CMA, etc.) to cross-post and align on content and campaigns.
- Adhere to and regularly adjust the CEO social media strategy to set and meet quarterly objectives.
- Assist with the CEO team to build high-level messaging, strategy, and written content as needed.
- Prepare and deliver regular performance reports and metric analyses to the CEO team, providing insights on social media impact and reach.

Skills you need to succeed:
Knowledge of:
- Effective digital communication strategies
- Major contemporary digital platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook)
- Sprout social media management system
Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to efficiently analyze, identify, and summarize data to inspire content creation and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to:
- Write and adapt content in a style that reflects the CEO’s voice, persona, and strategic messaging priorities across all social media platforms.
- Innovate and utilize channel updates effectively to reach new audiences
- Express mission values to social media communities in concise and direct ways
- Research ADF’s issues and cases in the media, public affairs, and current events and use discretion to translate into compelling social media content
Education and/or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or relevant degree (journalism or multimedia) or equivalent experience working in politics or advocacy
- 3-5 years of social media experience
- Graphic design and video editing skills are a plus
