Salary: $30 / Hour TheEducational Sign Language Interpreter supports staff, students, and families byproviding interpretation and translation services for deaf and hearing-impairedstudents. The interpreter also effectively facilitates communication betweenstudents who use sign language due to hearing loss, and students/teachers whodo not. KeyDetails: + Pay Rate : $32 - $37/per hour (based on behavioral experience & education) + Paid Weekly. + Schedule : Monday through Friday. + Reg. School Year Hours : 8:00am - 1p, 2:15p, or 3:30pm (5hr, 6hr, 7hr shifts) No weekends. + Summer School Hours : 8:00am - 12:30pm (4hr shifts) No weekends. + Benefits : Paid Sick Time Benefits + Commitment Level : 15 - 35 hours of availability. Minimum Requirements: + State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable) + Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) + Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age EssentialDuties and Responsibilities: + Follows through with IEP objectives including math, reading, speech, independent skills, and managing behavioral deficits and excesses, one on one or as a general classroom aide + Facilitates teacher directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance + Assists students when included into general education classes + Communicates pertinent information to teachers + Accompanies students during recess and lunch periods, along with community experiences + Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities.
