Job Description

Blend is looking for an experienced SEO practitioner to help grow organic visibility, traffic, and revenue for its tour, activity, and attraction clients. Our clients operate in some of the most in-demand markets and niches across the country and internationally such as Paris, Banff National Park, WI Dells, Chicago, Moab, and more.

The Senior SEO Manager must be adept at identifying and prioritizing SEO opportunities and work collaboratively with the wider team and clients on things like technical SEO implementation, content intelligence, on-page optimization, process & strategy, analysis, and authority building.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create, prioritize, and execute SEO plans for all clients.
  • Build audits to benchmark current status and performance.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities, and make clear recommendations on projects to improve performance.
  • Build and present regular reports to the internal team and clients to track progress on SEO initiatives using tools like SEMRush, Looker Studio, and Search Console.
  • Work with the team to ensure that recommended updates are implemented. The Senior SEO Manager must be able and willing to make some changes on their own, but can rely on the content and development team for projects that require additional support.
  • Provide suggestions for on-page changes at the URL and page template level to improve rankings and conversion rates.
  • Proactively create customer delight by finding quick wins and new or missed opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO, and apply this knowledge to improve client campaigns.
  • Help colleagues and clients understand enough about SEO to participate in prioritization decisions.

Requirements

You may be the right person for this role if:

  • You are an experienced agency-side SEO professional with experience leading SEO strategy and execution in a client-facing way.
  • You are deadline-conscious, proactive, and able to communicate effectively with customers on all things SEO, technical and editorial.
  • You have strong project and time management skills. You are organized and love to create and maintain process.
  • You do not take on an “it depends” SEO mentality or speak in broad hypotheticals. You know how to ask the right questions to get context so you can make recommendations based on potential impact to their goals and the budget/resources available.
  • You can identify and diagnose straightforward technical issues and explain why and how to remedy the issue. (Examples include: dealing with broken links, XML sitemap issues, broken images, page load speed problems, redirect chains, poor internal linking, etc. is a breeze for you.)
  • You have a track record for moving accounts forward and creating success with SEO in terms of traffic, leads, and closed-won revenue.
  • You can speak on SEO in front of executives and clearly demonstrate your expertise — but you also know how to role up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and create wins on your own.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to draft clear emails, decks, and strategy documents, and record videos as needed to walk customers through issues and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content intelligence.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to dive into data to build a business case.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. You should have a track record of getting accounts to renew SEO services.
  • Experience with SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven track record of driving results through successful SEO campaigns.
  • You are engaged in the SEO space and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and innovations.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working directly in travel—and specifically with tours, activities, and attractions.
