THE POSITION

Job Summary
Due to an internal upward promotion, our client seeks a Plant Manager who will be accountable for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of the Chetek, Wisconsin facility. Reporting to senior leadership, this role oversees all manufacturing operations, ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth. Will also ensure successful production transfer from another location into the Chetek, WI plant. The Plant Manager will lead a team of empowered employees, drive continuous improvement initiatives while building a culture of accountability, innovation, open communication, and high performance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the deployment of the companies’ Win Strategy, setting clear objectives and driving results weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all manufacturing functions—including production, quality, supply chain, scheduling, and logistics—to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean initiatives across the plant, embedding them into daily operations to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure premier service by maintaining world-class quality standards and on-time delivery performance.
  • Financial Management: Develop, manage, and deliver plant budgets while achieving growth, cost control, and profitability goals.
  • Talent Development: Build, coach, and retain a high-performing workforce by fostering teamwork, training, mentoring, and career development.
  • Collaboration & Representation: Act as the plant’s ambassador with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and market demands.

THE CANDIDATE

Profile Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in manufacturing leadership with increasing responsibility. Prior experience as a plant manager, plant operations manager, manufacturing manager or similar.
  • Ideal candidate will be able to grow at least one level above this role.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in plant operations, production, plant safety, and budgeting.
  • Solid knowledge of production scheduling, planning, quality inventory control, shipping and receiving.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Experience with production transfers from one location to another is desirable.
  • Demonstrated success driving Lean and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with union facilities is a plus (not required).
