Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle ERP Database Administrator to support the operations of mission-critical systems for a state agency in Richmond, VA. This role is a hybrid position requiring local candidates and includes participation in a structured on-call support rotation. The ideal candidate will have extensive Oracle 19c experience and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex database environments effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle 19c databases, including Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard (Physical Standby).
- Manage RMAN backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Perform data migration and maintenance using Oracle Data Pump utilities (Export/Import).
- Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager and ASM (Automatic Storage Management) for system monitoring and performance tuning.
- Support Linux-based database environments and troubleshoot system-level issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Proven expertise with:
- Oracle 19c database administration
- Oracle RAC and Data Guard (Physical Standby)
- RMAN backup and recovery
- Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Oracle ASM on Linux platforms
- Oracle Data Pump (Export/Import)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Experience with Linux or Unix system administration
- Familiarity with SQL Server environments
- Experience working in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
