Network Security Engineer

My client has a full time opening for a Network Security Engineer.  This role is on site to start and offers hybrid options after a few month of employment.  

Responsibilities:

• Project & Implementation:
  • Support project implementations and handoffs.
  • Create detailed network security documentation and diagrams.
  • Ensure timely project completion.
• Network Security Management:
  • Maintain firewalls, NAC, IPS, and other security systems.
  • Perform software/firmware updates and security hardening.
  • Conduct security audits and vulnerability remediation.
• Operational Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Analyze and resolve network security issues (root cause, corrective actions).
  • Troubleshoot TCP/IP, certificates, SNMP, and security problems.
  • Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
• Documentation & Communication:
  • Develop system documentation and Visio diagrams.
  • Document support processes and create runbooks.
  • Communicate technical information effectively.
• System Improvement & Planning:
  • Propose proactive system improvements.
  • Analyze network topology for potential issues.
  • Plan and implement network/security solutions.
  • Design high-availability processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 5+ years of Cisco network infrastructure and security experience.
  • Proficiency in IP routing (OSPF, BGP), WAN (MPLS, IPsec, VPNs), and VXLAN.
  • Strong understanding of network security technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
• Certifications:
  • CCNA or CCNP (Routing & Switching or Security) preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong project management and troubleshooting skills.
• Expertise in TCP/IP and network security.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
