Step into Precision: Your Day in Our Repair Lab

Picture this: you arrive at our Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab, settle in at your own dedicated workbench, and power up your microscope. Throughout the day, you’ll bring surgical devices—especially flexible endoscopes—back to life using small hand tools and power tools. You’ll diagnose issues using standardized tests, repair or replace parts, and verify performance to exact specifications so Customers receive timely, high‑quality results.

No prior medical device repair experience required — we provide comprehensive hands-on training.

What Your Work Looks Like

  • Repair surgical devices and related equipment from basic through intermediate complexity, following precise specifications.
  • Use microscopes, test methods, and jigs to inspect mechanisms, identify defects, and determine corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot and reassemble devices; perform functional tests to confirm conformance to specification.
  • Recognize risks and escalating issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Follow Standard Work Instructions (SWI); support Company ISO goals and requirements.
  • Complete workplace organization audits and safety observations as required at the site.
  • Comply with all safety and health procedures; use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.

Schedule & Work Location

  • On-site in our Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab with a dedicated workbench .
  • Core schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
  • Flexibility to support early/late hours, including evenings and weekends, based on Customer and business needs.

What You Bring

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of total work experience , including at least 1 year of relevant hands-on repair/assembly/testing , or 1 year of experience at STERIS ; all experience must be verifiable.
  • Transferable backgrounds can include small engine repair, cell phone/electronics repair, rebuilds or testing, carpentry, circuit board assembly/repair, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and to push instrument carts ranging from 10–150 lbs at times.
  • Willingness to meet flexible schedules that may extend outside normal business hours.
  • Related technical/mechanical certifications, competitive equipment training, or relevant military experience may count toward experience requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience with soldering, brazing, or other fine mechanical applications.
  • Vocational/Technical degree.
  • Technical training certifications.
