Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the transportation, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies essential for energy projects. In this role, you will help ensure efficient supply chain operations, on-time deliveries, and cost-effective logistics strategies, all while adhering to regulatory and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with teams in procurement, project management, construction, and vendors to ensure smooth logistics for projects in renewables (solar, wind), power generation, oil & gas, substations, and transmission & distribution (T&D) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination

Develop and implement logistics strategies to meet the timelines of energy projects.
Manage the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials, equipment, and heavy machinery.
Optimize inventory management to minimize delays and prevent material shortages.
Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) companies to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

Transportation & Freight Management

Plan and manage domestic and international shipping schedules for suppliers.
Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, IATA, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) regulations in freight transport.
Track real-time shipments and proactively address any delays or issues.
Optimize freight costs through strategic partnerships and bulk shipping agreements.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate inventory levels using just-in-time (JIT) strategies to reduce costs.
Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast material needs and plan deliveries accordingly.
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and tracking of materials to prevent damage or loss.

Logistics Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all logistics activities comply with local, federal, and international regulations.
Develop and enforce safety protocols for material handling and transportation.
Identify potential logistical risks and create strategies to prevent supply chain disruptions.
Maintain accurate records of shipping documents, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance reports.

Cost Control & Budget Management

Monitor and manage logistics costs, seeking out opportunities for cost savings and improvements.
Develop cost-effective transportation and warehousing solutions for large-scale energy projects.
Negotiate contracts with freight carriers, warehouse providers, and logistics service providers.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess logistics efficiency and adjust strategies accordingly.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

Collaborate closely with procurement, construction, project management, and finance teams to align logistics with project goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners.
Provide logistics support for emergency or urgent material requests to avoid project delays.

Sustainability & Green Logistics Initiatives

Implement eco-friendly logistics solutions to reduce carbon emissions and waste.
Optimize route planning and fuel-efficient transportation methods for heavy equipment.
Support sustainability goals by reducing material waste and implementing recycling programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: 7+ years in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, preferably in energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certifications (Preferred):
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - APICS
Certified Logistics Professional (CLP)
OSHA & DOT Compliance Certifications
HAZMAT & Dangerous Goods Transportation Certification

Skills:
Strong knowledge of logistics management, warehouse operations, and transportation regulations.
Proficiency in logistics software (SAP, Oracle, TMS, WMS) for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
Ability to negotiate freight contracts, analyze costs, and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
