Project Manager
ROLE
We need an experienced Project Manager at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS’s Office of Hearings (OH) administers and delivers fair and independent Provider Reimbursement Review Board (PRRB), Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board (MGCRB), and CMS Hearing Officer proceedings. The MGCRB process allows hospitals to apply for geographic reclassification to higher wage areas for increased Medicare reimbursement, while the Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) program supports the appeals process for Medicare Advantage organizations disputing audit determinations related to payment accuracy. In this role, you will oversee all program management activities for both MGCRB and RADV operations, ensuring efficient coordination, quality assurance, and timely delivery of all contract requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in the project kickoff meeting to establish expectations, schedules, and deliverables for all tasks under the contract
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Program Management Plan (PMP) detailing project schedules, milestones, risks, staffing, communications, and escalation procedures
  • Prepare and deliver monthly progress, cost, and staffing reports for MGCRB and RADV operations in accordance with CMS deadlines
  • Lead monthly Program Management Review meetings, preparing agendas, tracking action items, and documenting approved minutes
  • Establish and maintain an effective quality assurance process to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely completion of all contract deliverables
  • Coordinate and execute training programs to ensure staff proficiency and compliance with CMS standards
  • Oversee staffing matrices and maintain updated records of project personnel, key roles, and organizational structure
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and ad hoc reporting in support of CMS management reviews and performance tracking
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, communicate issues requiring escalation to CMS, and ensure corrective actions are documented and tracked to closure
  • Support transition planning, knowledge transfer, and completion documentation as part of contract closeout or transition activities
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of project management experience managing a multi-disciplinary project team
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification through the Project Management Institute
