The Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University (Houston, Texas) is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Director and Lecturer of Industrial-Organizational (IO) Psychology position to begin July 1, 2025, pending administrative approval. The candidate would ideally have a Ph.D. in IO Psychology or a related field by the start of the appointment. This is a two-year appointment with the strong possibility of renewal, contingent on performance.
The successful applicant will teach two applied courses per year and work in collaboration with tenure/tenure-track faculty to lead the Masters in IO Psychology (MIOP) program. The Rice IO psychology doctoral program is ranked #1 in the country by the U.S. News and World Report, and we are working to ensure a similarly strong two-year professional degree program with annual cohorts of 5-10 students. We are seeking a professional who can guide MIOP student recruitment and selection, onboarding and socialization, career development and placement, and alumni relations. Relevant competencies include knowledge of IO psychology, strong communication, organization, and networking skills, and dedication to mentorship and development.
Salary for the full-time position is $60,000 plus fringe benefits. Moving expenses are not included with the position.
