Laboratory Assistant – Histology Lab
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Salary: $17 - $20/hour
Schedule: Day Shift

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laboratory Assistant to support our Histology laboratory operations. This position is responsible for assisting with specimen processing, slide preparation, equipment maintenance, and general laboratory duties to ensure efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, label, and accession histology specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.
• Assist in preparing tissue samples for processing, embedding, and microtomy.
• Support histotechnologists and pathologists by organizing and distributing slides and blocks.
• Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision.
• Follow proper laboratory safety and biohazard handling procedures.
• Assist with quality control and documentation to ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.
• Provide general administrative support, including data entry and record-keeping.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a science-related field preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience, particularly in histology or pathology, is a plus.
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
