Job Description

AECOM  is actively seeking an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the AECOM Water team in our East Region. Positions are located in Florida, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Come be a part of our growing Water Market Sector, which includes Drinking Water, Wastewater, Conveyance, Tunnels, Dams & Reservoirs, Industrial Water + Wastewater, Watershed & Ecosystems and Coastal Water!

This position is expected to start in Spring/Summer 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD MEP.
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
• Water/Wastewater treatment evaluation and design.
• Pump station evaluation and design.
• Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
• Sewer collection system evaluation and design.
• Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Requirements:

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
• Capable of using a spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software
• Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
• Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn
• Detail-oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong logic skills and writing skills
• Documents time and effort accurately
• Good communication skills
• Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules
• Can take direction from others and in turn can provide guidance to others
