Desert Publications Inc., publisher of
Palm Springs Life and other luxury lifestyle and visitor publications, seeks a Digital Graphic Designer professional to deliver solutions for a diverse range of marketing and integrated communications needs. The designer collaborates with both online and offline areas within the Company. Seeking a highly detail-oriented person, responsible for both print/online marketing and events material design and execution. Must be able to execute creative concepts to produce finished working solutions (from print to digital to social media), and interpret brand standards and adapt as needed to digital channels. Independent problem-solving skills are critical.
Note: This is an on-site job in Palm Springs, California. You will not be considered unless you live in the general geographical area or are willing to relocate. Relocation funds are not available.
Responsibilities - Execute new marketing concepts and strategies, from developing ideas and storyboards through creation and production
- Create and build email marketing campaigns using online email platforms (i.e., Constant Contact, SendGrid, etc.); must understand responsive design and how it functions and appears on various devices
- Develop and create banner ad campaigns, including animated ads, to run on all devices
- Understand social media and know how to create images for various platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.)
- Experience working with online web editing platforms to create and edit web pages and websites (i.e., WordPress)
- Experience with producing, editing, and compressing video for use on banner campaigns and social media
- Manage assorted calendars and media schedules (i.e., eblast schedules, event timelines, etc.)
- Ability to take a print campaign and develop it into a digital, email, and/or social campaign
- Repurpose, rework and revise existing marketing content as needed
Desired Skills and Experience - 3-5 years experience and a solid understanding of email marketing
- Must understand interactive design principles and correct syntax
- Work closely with both online and offline areas within the company to ensure consistency of branding and messaging
- Strong understanding of the process of concept development, copywriting and storyboarding
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with tech support, executive management, creative supervisors, events team, etc.
- Maintain awareness of technology and software advances in the field and apply advances to daily tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Maintain job folders, documentation
Technical Skills/Software - Working cross-platform (PC and Mac) and with various presentation devices/OS platforms
- Adobe CS6 Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat Pro
- MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Online web editing platforms (knowledge of HMTL, Javascript, and CSS a plus but not required)
- Online email platforms
- Video editing for online and social media applications
This is a full-time, salaried position located in beautiful downtown Palm Springs, CA. This is not a remote position. Salary range $52,000 to $57,000.
