Job Description

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA (Hybrid)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join a dynamic, mission-focused team. This role serves as a subject matter expert for all cybersecurity and information assurance requirements of the program office, contributing to the security and integrity of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate system architecture design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting from a cybersecurity perspective to ensure compliance and integration of required cybersecurity products.

  • Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance requirements.

  • Prepare and review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy and address cybersecurity-related failures during Government and contractor tests.

  • Integrate cybersecurity, COMSEC, and TEMPEST into system lifecycle processes, from design to deployment.

  • Review and assess system performance against cybersecurity requirements and evaluate risks in meeting user needs.

  • Assist in developing and reviewing cybersecurity-related acquisition documents and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.

  • Implement the Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and support the ISSM in security control implementation and documentation reviews.

  • Address cybersecurity-related policy, budgetary, programmatic, and doctrinal issues within the organization.

  • Develop information assurance approval documentation and guide cybersecurity measures across system lifecycles.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and daily certification and accreditation activities.

  • Manage incident coordination with local Network Enterprise Centers (NEC) and Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT).

  • Ensure compliance with DoD Inspector General (IG) Cybersecurity Self-Assessment checklists and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

  • Implement audit measures, participate in inspections and surveys, and evaluate corrective actions for compliance.

  • Participate in post-award reviews, program design reviews, and IPTs as a cybersecurity engineering representative.

  • Mentor team members and establish innovative cybersecurity strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship  is required due to the sensitivity of the role.

  • Active Secret DoD Clearance required.

  • Education & Experience:
    • Masters Degree in Cybersecurity.

    • 20+ years of relevant experience.

  • Certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

    • Security+ Certification.

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive experience in operational cybersecurity accreditation and certification for embedded systems accredited at the Secret level and below.

    • Strong knowledge of AR 25-2, DoD RMF, and eMASS software with recent accreditation experience (within the last two years).

    • Proficient in systems engineering processes, network security architecture, and developing cybersecurity policies and requirements.

    • In-depth understanding of DoD cybersecurity standards, integration, and accreditation processes.

    • Demonstrated

       ability to lead cybersecurity efforts independently with minimal oversight.
