What You’ll Do:

  • Learn to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials like soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates while gaining real-world experience.
  • Assist in material sampling and preparation under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure materials meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate testing equipment and tools in a safe, effective manner.
  • Document and report findings, contributing directly to the success of construction projects.

Requirements

Education and Background:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • No prior experience in construction materials testing necessary—ideal for entry-level candidates eager to start a career in construction.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong interest in construction, engineering, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain safety protocols, and pay attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites, which may include uneven terrain.

Licensing and Transportation:

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Availability:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and occasional evenings as required by project needs.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
