The School of Medicine - Psychiatry - Addiction Research & Treatment has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Research Nurse. The Nurse position functions as a registered professional nurse within a public medical research institution coordinating program activities, providing direct patient care, and supporting research and healthcare initiatives. This specific position primarily focuses on community-based care, particularly for older adults with addictions, and involves clinical, programmatic, and research responsibilities in collaboration with the University of Maryland (UM) Health and Recovery Program (HARP), UM Addictions Treatment Center, and other healthcare teams and community partners. The position reports to the Multi-Modal Aging Friendly Addiction Services (MAFAS) Program Director and the HARP Nurse Supervisor.

Primary Duties
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience nursing, clinical, or in a relevant research specialization related to the position. Experience in addiction treatment or older adult care preferred. Experience with harm reduction principles and community-based care preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Current Maryland license in good standing issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as a registered nurse or a multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Maryland or appropriate federal district licensure where research is conducted.
Other: Certification from Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred. May require training related to substance use and addiction, aging friendly healthcare, harm reduction, wound care, occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, research protocols, and other role specific content.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

In-depth knowledge of the Maryland Nurse Practice Act. Strong clinical skills, including aseptic techniques, infection control, and patient assessment. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Familiarity with Baltimore's healthcare landscape is preferred.
Hiring Range: $85,000 - $103,000, commensurate with education and experience.
