Job Description
Senior Helpers Portland West, a family-owned and operated home care agency, is hiring a dedicated part-time caregiver to support a senior in Oregon City. About the Client:
This client has dementia and requires a caregiver who is:
- Patient, calm, and confident with personal care
- Creative in engaging the client in activities and conversation
- Positive, empathetic, and emotionally steady
Please note: The home includes a large dog and a cat, so comfort with pets is essential. The location is in the countryside, so reliable transportation and a willingness to drive there are required.
Position Details
- Schedule: 15 hours/week to start, with potential to increase to 25–30 hours/week
- Pay: $18.50–$20/hour
- Location: Oregon City
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, mobility)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
- Drive the client to appointments and errands
- Monitor health and communication with family and care team
Requirements
- Ability to perform personal care tasks confidently
- Must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle
- Previous caregiving experience preferred, but training is provided
