Summary:

Under general supervision, understands and provides technical knowledge and the ability to test, repair and maintain mid-level/complex medical devices. Equipment also includes electronic test equipment and various types of medical equipment. Testing will be done in our facility and will involve staff interaction. Supports and maintains Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) safe Environment of Care.

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly documents preventive maintenance and equipment repairs into the CMMS system in a timely and consistent manner. Analyzes data and processes for opportunities for improvement. Works in cross departmental teams to identify opportunities for improvement in practice and policy.Writes, reviews, and executes testing procedures on medical devices, ensuring compliance to codes and following manufacturer's instructions. Performs troubleshooting and repair, calling for special service when needed.Repairs and maintains high-level/complex medical devices by adjusting, calibrating, testing and documenting equipment performance.Trains and mentors Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) I and II staff.Serve as project manager for moderate to high complexity projects.Maintains appropriate equipment inventories and equipment sterilization.Works in collaboration with IT and the equipment manufacturers to ensure appropriate cyber security of medical devices. Acts as lead resource on one or more product lines / devices.

Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of various types of medical equipment.

Other Information: Candidate may have: High school diploma plus nine (9) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment, Military/Department of Defense Training in Electronics, or Bachelor's degree or higher and five (5) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Biomedical Industry Technical Certification is preferred.Additional Education Info: or in Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for education requirement.
