Job Description: Position Purpose: This part-time 20/hours a week position provides research support for a Physical Activity research study. Principal responsibilities include:
- Assist study team with recruitment of participants.
- Conduct phone and/or in-person surveys, visits, and measurements with study participants. Learn and follow protocols for baseline and follow-up measures. Contact participants, arrange and prepare for participant visits. Collect and enter process evaluation data, as needed.
Major responsibilities include:
- Conduct evaluation of participants 60 %
- Participant recruitment and retention 30 %
- Data Entry 10%
Job Qualifications and Competencies Education and Experience - Required: BA or BS in psychology, public health or related field with 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required: Must have bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Required: Must provide own transportation to research sites and be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Required: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Experience working in the community setting preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Attention to detail. Motivated and self-starting.
- Knowledge of necessary research methodology; knowledge of health program planning, implementation, and evaluation preferred.
- Experience in programming online surveys (e.g., Qualtrics software) is preferred
- Experience working in the community setting preferred.
Job Competencies - Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team is required
- Ability to function as a research team member
- Must be available to work onsite at Brown University
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends depending on participant availability
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effort to meet project goals
- Openness to and interest in learning new skills
- One-year commitment is preferred
- Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
