Role Description

Financial Operations:

  • Manage collections, receivables, payables, revenue account reconciliations, and month-end journal entries.
  • Assist with accounting transactions and payroll processing in the CFO’s absence.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with monthly financial close activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of the five-year forecast, including data analysis and strategic alignment.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations, including IRS requirements for 501(c)(6) organizations.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and information to auditors.
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Recommend improvements to financial processes and controls.
  • Document and streamline financial processes to support continuity and succession planning.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned by the CFO and Executive Director.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree.

• Non-profit or association experience preferred.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, and database systems.

• Must have experience with accounting software systems.

• Experience with association management software (such as MemberSuite), preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

• Remote working or hybrid experience, preferred.
