We’re looking for an Animator (Remote / Part-Time) to help us create the future of live anime entertainment — working alongside industry-renowned animators and independent content creators. Responsibilities

  • Hand-key anime-style character animations (idles, emotes, action loops, cinematic shots) with exaggerated timing and fluid motion
  • Use Cascadeur’s AI-assisted tools to block out poses, refine physics-based motion, and enhance secondary motion
  • Balance physics realism with anime exaggeration, utilizing AutoPhysics & Secondary Motion while maintaining stylized aesthetics
  • Edit, clean, and refine motion capture data to match anime-style animation quality and flow
  • Create expressive body animations, facial movements, and gestures that reflect anime-style acting
  • Work with Technical Animators and Riggers to ensure animations deform properly and integrate well with rigs
  • Export animation-ready files for Unity (Humanoid pipeline) and collaborate on integration
  • Collaborate with VFX and Shader teams to synchronize movement with visual effects (e.g., impact smears, stylized particles)
  • Animate to match or enhance 2D reference and storyboards

Skills & Requirements

  • Portfolio or reel showcasing anime-style hand-keyed animation and expressive movement
  • Strong Autodesk Maya keyframe animation skills
  • Experience using Cascadeur for pose blocking, motion refinement, and physics-assisted keyframing
  • Deep understanding of anime animation principles (exaggerated motion, holds, smears, snap timing)
  • Ability to blend mocap and hand-keyed techniques to achieve fluid yet stylized anime motion
  • Experience editing, cleaning, and refining motion capture data to achieve polished, anime-style results
  • Comfortable working within Unity Humanoid animation system (export & retargeting knowledge)
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, able to take feedback and work effectively in a remote team
  • Must have 3-5 years professional experience creating Games, Anime, or other Entertainment related fields

Bonus / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience animating combat/action sequences (e.g., attacks, magic, melee movement)
  • Knowledge of Unity Timeline or other tools for sequencing animations in-engine
  • Experience collaborating with VFX artists to sync motion with stylized FX (anime-style impacts, smears)
  • Familiarity with motion retargeting and adapting animation assets
